High dose Lyrica

Posted by BIGDaddyachmed69 on September 9, 2006, at 10:41:02

I recall reading several posts in which the individual compared high dose Lyrica (600 mg and above) to Ecstacy and GHB...I personally think that was a bit of an exaggeration, but I was wondering if anyone else is having success with higher doses. I'm stuck at 300 mg...it helps, but not nearly enough. I would say that if anything it's sedating...the person proclaimed that the dose they were on was stimulating, pro-social and that it had a robust effect on their depression. I wouldn't say I'm experiencing that...just a reduction in generalized anxiety. Yeh, so anyone out there whose tried Lyrica, preferably at higher doses than the average patient, respond with your observations and any recommendations you may have.

I am on high dose Lyrica (600 mgs. daily in divided doses) i've never done ecstacy or GHB, so i have nothing to say about that. I was also feeling sedated on 300 mgs., when i got to 500 mgs., BAM!..i could feel the depression lift, a huge increase in energy, pro-social big time, motivation much improved. And i've been on 600 mgs. now for almost 3 months and i am doing VERY WELL. Lyrica is the best med (for me) that i've tried in 26 yrs. of this illness, and believe me, i've been on A LOT. Plse. feel free to ask me anything.

I was the biggest advocate of GHB there was,now i am proud i no longer touch it.

Safer than acholol yess,in micro doses safe, possably, more likly to create a circle that really goes no where,YESS.

GHB you get high, now everyone deserves a break so i am still a believer in its correct use,but i dont see it being therputic,i know how strong people feel i was one of them, but simply put you are high,in order for it to work you are likly to be inhibited.

But you can yank arguments out of every direction but in my view and use of it for 5 years thats the truth to myself, and i want progress which i dont see happening on that.

GHB is classified as a depressant, and that is what the substance is.

Its fda approved in Europe which means obviously it is considered for this purpose.

It also contrary to what my doc debated to me about and to what i really held my anger back on,is like its cousin Nuerontin, used extenisvly here in the U.S off label for mood disorders just as Nuerontin was.

Im not aware of it being actualy approved here in the U.S,but with the facts i presented of such,it being so in Europe, and case upon case of its use off label here,i dont see why there was such an issue.

Phillipa u have me worrying sometimes how u come out of no where with a odd statement lol, anyway i sent you the information on the property value over here, unfortantly my father is the man in that area, all i know is im promised this house which is nice to know.

This area is a thousand times different than when i first rode in on my horse 6 years ago.

Will I e-mail with a lot of posters and know what their meds are and I've been told by them that they are on high dose lyrica.

Where did you ride your horse there? I never remember seeing horses unless you went out toward the VA Beach jail and horses were raised there. Love Jan ps I think we confuse other posters. Will and i both lived in VA Beach. He's still there I moved. I'm thinking of going back there . I was near CBN University. Will hope you don't mind me saying the part of the country.

Hi, I've just started Lyrica at 150 mg in 2 doses, both at night. I take them at night, because it makes me really drowsy.

The goal is to get up to 600mg, for the energizing effect.

When getting to that level, should I be taking the doses during the day?

Does it effect sleep to take it at night when your at that high a dose?

Also, if you divide it up, say 450 during the day, and 150 at night, will that 150 still make you drowsy, or do you have the cumulative effect of the energizing effect at that point?

Thanks for any response.
