I see that the possability of life threatening pancreatis was added to the side effects of depakote. I am considering giving this medication another try, and was wondering if anyone could quantify or clarify this side effect.
I understand that liver dammage can be tracked, but is there any way to see how this medication is affecting your pancreas?

You're so right about the liver damage, I was on Epilim which is from the Valproate family and after a couple of months I started feeling really sick. My pdoc didn't tell me that I needed to have regular blood tests and when I finally had one my liver function test was sooooooo high I had to stop it immediately. They told me that 900 was death and mine was at 450, it's meant to be around 50-100 I think. I'm sorry that I can't help you with the pancreas situation.
