Xanax and Fatigue/Dizziness?

Posted by CK1 on August 12, 2006, at 7:23:06

I've been on Xanax .25-.5 mg/day for the past 6 months with good results - kills anxiety with zero effect on mood. HOWEVER, the past few weeks I've been very tired/nauseated and DIZZY. The dizziness really bothers me as well as the fatigue. My doctor said he's never seen Xanax cause dizziness....
I have a very bad sinus infection as shown by a CT Scan and having surgery next week. This might be causing fatigue/dizziness in and of itself! I'm just trying to figure out whether all this is Xanax or the sinus infection!!

Please share your thoughts.....

Chronic sinus infections can definitely cause fatigue. I have one, and have been told that several times.

What type of dizziness do you get?

Good luck with the surgery.

Hi CKl. I was thinking of you the other day. Wondering if you were doing your special work. I think the sinus thing could definitely cause dizzyness. Are your ears plugged up popping? Love Phillipa

I take the same dose of xanax now and then but it never caused dizziness.
In fact the fist symptom of my anxiety was dizziness to the point of feeling like I was falling over. It took alot of co-ercion to make me realise that it was anxiety and not something else.
Anything that blocks your sinus can have an effect on your equilibrium - sinus and ears have a role in making you feel dizzy when they are not working properly.
Chronic sinus infection can make you feel very yukky. My partner has had the surgery and snores rarely now but used to be a chainsaw.
Hope you feel better.
