Sopping Abilify for a few days

Posted by curtm on July 19, 2006, at 8:25:54

It is such a good drug, but it continues to make me more restess and insomniac. I never felt *true* insomnia until now. I am going to stop for a few days to see what if any changes come about. Don't worry I'm still on Lamictal. :) Do you think it could be caused by the combination of the two?

I take both Lamictal and abilify. The insomnia I had when I started abilify has completely settled down. Until it did, I used a little seroquel when needed. It does not make me restless now. In fact, I'm wondering if the abilify isn't making me kind of tired now.

If you like it, try to wait out the insomnia and see if it improves.

I will try that. I will also try to check my spelling better in the future (sopping = stopping) haha

I didn't take any Abilify today. Ugh I needed a little break. Probably will tomorrow again.

Seriously isn't abilfy supposed to be stimulating can you take it during the day. I have no idea just suggesting. Love Phillipa

I meant to add that it took about 2 months or so for the insomnia to clear up. YMMV of course. Prior to that I woke up several times a night unless I took Seroquel. We tried a few things for the insomnia such as Lunesta and Rozerem. Low dose Seroquel ended up working the best and with the least hangover.

I'd say don't be afraid to treat the insomnia and don't get too discouraged if it takes a little experimentation to find something that works well. Hopefully the insomnia will be temporary. Good luck.
