Hello
I take Clozapine 400mg.
I've had various tests since I've been on it. I had an EEG where they stuck little pads all over my head and I had to lie in a darkened room on a bed. Then I had, was it a CAT scan? I had to lie on a moving thing and go in a tunnel. Now I have got a letter through the post saying I have to have an ECG. What for?? I know it's to do with your heart. Why do I have to have this done, anyone know?

hi pretty_paints Im bunny I take antipsychotics too. I often read your posts about clozapine and Im afraid I cant really offer any sound advice so I have remained happy just to read them. I was just wondering if you have moment if you could give me a rundown of how you are finding clozapine. Have you taken other antipsychotics how does it compare? How well would you say the clozapine is controlling your symptoms? I read you were getting lots of side effects, have these reached a manageable level now you have been taking it for some time? How are you finding the required level of monitoring required to take clozapine? I think you are required to have regular blood tests, how is that? Sorry lots of questions please dont feel any obligation to reply I am just curious and wont be offended if you choose not to.

PS: I may be wrong but the heart tests may be to check for QT interval changes, this is a side effect of antipsychotics on the timing of the heart.
