OK, I think I am getting this but I found another question. Each day I read the board and keep track of what I am watching becasue the ones I have read turn another color after reading. This seems pretty easy for me. However, SOMETIMES the highlighting just goes away and then I don't know WHERE I left off, which threads I've been following or where to go. Help! Is there some way to fix this?
TIA

Are you (inadvertently?) clearing your browser history? In MS Internet Explorer, it's in the Tools > Internet Options menu. This can erase your browser's memory of what sites you've visited. It can be set to erase it automatically every time you close and re-start IE or after X number of days.
When the history is cleared, all Babble links can become the same color, no matter if you've visited them.

ok, I see it. it lets me choose how many days to keep my viewed pages in history. Right now it is set for 2, but it lets me set it for 999 if I want to. So, If I want to *always* know which pages I have already visited (which posts, I mean) then what do I set it at?
Thanks so much

Hey, Mary. I'm glad it helped a little, anyway.

Sorry, I dunno. I hope someone else does.
I do know that if never cleared out, the history file on my computer would become unmanageably huge. Also, I *think* the whole thing gets loaded into memory whenever IE is running, which means it could eventually cause crashes for me if left to go grow unchecked, with thousands and thousands of addresses...
Good luck! :-)

I use Firefox browser (very rarely IE), and have had some similar kinds of problems.
I found that deleting the Psycho-Babble "cookies", both in IE's cache and Firefox's cache, fixes the situation.

I use Firefox and have the same problem
Also, I get yellow signs saying "new" and some green ones-- don't quite get it--are the green ones new threads, and the yellow new posts to older threads?
Also the yellow flags are consistent: sometimes I go to pbabble, and there are lots of messages posted since my last visit to the site, which have no "new" flag. What's up with that?

Ok, I went to the FAQ site and read it and, sorry, but I still don't get it. I'm not so computer savvy as I'd like to be. The problem I have is in that when i get on the board and read a post, the post then becomes highlighted. So, the next day when I get on I can see the highlighted ones and know I have been there and am following that thread. But, sometims I get on the board and NOTHING is highlighted anymore, even posts that I know I have visited. I would really like a post I have read to be highltighted and just STAY highlighted forever. So, is that possible???? Thank you, sorry to be a bother.

> maryNo bother at all Mary, but I don't think I can help. The same thing happens to me sometimes. Maybe post the question in admin and see if you can get an answer. Not much help, here.
Take care,
