Hi
Two ideas:
1. Propranolol (Inderal) is not the right drugs for your anxiety - it didn't do anything for me. Some people find that it relieves tremor and cardiac symptoms, it doesn't generally relieve any of the other symptoms of anxiety though. It has not performed well in clinical trials for anxiety. In general, Inderal is more consistently effective for high blood pressure and angina than it is for anxiety.
2. You might find that standard release Inderal (as opposed to Inderal LA) feels 'stronger'.

I don't "feel" anything from it either. But from my experience, if you get into an anxiety provoking situation, say if the throat tightens and your heart races when you have to give a speech, or when asking that special girl for a date, Inderal will block those physical fight/flight responses. Which helps maintain calmness.
I've never tried the extended release version. As Ed alluded, the standard formula may be stronger, and more suited for situational anxiety.
warm regards, Jake

Personally I don't "feel" anything from propranolol until about 80mg, used rarely by myself for akathisia, hand tremor, or idiopathic heart rate increase. It definately helps with tremor and it also relaxes a back spasm disorder as well. It however is a moderate serotonin reducer (and is used with cyproheptadine in Serotonin Syndrome cases in the ER) and causes my current disorder to increase a little bit if used even once or twice in a day.

Hi J
It doesn't make me depressed as such. It does cause terrible fatigue though, and dry eyes.
