Ey I have never heard mentioning that other benzos are useful for Social Phobia. Only Xanax
and Klonopin .

I don't think low potency Diazapines like Diazapam are very good for SP
Ativan can work
Bromazepam is supposed to be very good
I'd like to try that, but its not available in the UK

Diazepam works very well for my anxiety, better than clonazepam with fewer side effects. Unfortunately my social isolation is probably more due to depression than social anxiety.
I would assume that GAD could respond to any of the commonly-used benzos, if tolerable.

One of the problems with other benzos like Valium, is they have extremely long half lives and tend to accumulate in your system. Plus, as has already been mentioned, they aren't as potent.Klonopin has been the only real benzo that's stood the test of numerous trials for SP.
You need to determine if your SP is more anxiety based or depresion based. I tried adding Klonopin alone and it only made things worse. But in combination with an SSRI, it worked pretty well.
