I have noticed lots of anxiety the first couple of days I have been on the patch. I'm bipolar and am taking meds for that but still have nagging depression and my pdoc and I felt deprenyl could be a good drug to get at the depression.
Has any one else felt a great deal of anxiety on Ensam? Has it been your experience it goes away?
I'm on the 6mg patch. Anyone else bipolar and using the patch?thanks

I'm not bipolar using the patch but anxiety is my concern also so I thought I'd hop aboard and see if there other responses than the ones I got. Thank - you for letting follow your thread Love Phillipa

I had an increase in agitation at day 3 that really worried me. It has calmed down somewhat so I just have my regular bad depression and difficuly anxiety to live with. I am at day 11 now and its clearly tolerable, just so damned depressed I wish it would work already.

Desertdweller-how much worse is your anxiety now? Can I ask if you have ever tried wellbutrin and how that affected you?
Struggling Steve-I'm so glad that you are no longer having increased agitation. Good news indeed.
Hang in there, remember it took Adam 5 weeks!! It is still early days.

My anxiety is still pretty high. I'm taking seroquel during the day to calm the storm a bit hoping the anxiety will be reduced after a few days on the patch. I'm bipolar and take lamictal and lithium as well and ensam may just not be the right thing for us BP's; however I've used deprenyl capsules in the past and they've worked pretty well. It always amazes me how the body changes over time.

Ravenstorm,
I forgot to mention Wellbutrim. I have tried Wellbutrim in the past and anxiety was never a problem in terms of anxiety.
