Hello Parnate users. My heart rate is always at around 100 bpm since I started the Parnate. Go ahead, measure yours and let me know if this is normal.

Mine was that way too at the beginning. It is just your body adjusting to it I believe. Don't worry about it too much.

If it is really bothering you, you might consider augmenting with some atenolol or other beta blocker.

My resting heart rate was between 100 and 120 bpm while I was on a combination of Parnate + desipramine. This is normal, and I went on to achieve a full remission on this treatment. While the desipramine contributed to this effect, it demonstrates that there usually isn't anything untoward that comes of it. Your heart rate will probably drop to 90 bpm or lower once your body accomodates itself to the medication. People get too focused on this side effect. Don't worry about it. Just get well.
