Back on Klonopin -- Feeling great!

Posted by mattw84 on April 12, 2006, at 1:20:35

Hi all,

You may or may not recall that I have been struggling to no avail with anxiety that has been leading to agoraphobia. In the past I took 6mg QD of Xanax, which did wonders as well. I got weary of addiction, and mentioned it to my doc. Which brought up a lot of other issues regarding misuses of other illicit substances (ie, alcohol). At which point I was somewhat forced to withdraw from the high-dose Xanax (not fun at all BTW).

After having a fainting spell at work last week and ending up in the ER I was sent on my way with an Rx for Klonopin, about enough to last me 3 or 4 days (@ 4mg QD). At my follow up I got an Rx with 5 refills for 3mg QD. I am overjoyed! Not only that but I have gone out and done more (movies, dinners, golfing, etc) than in the last 6 months combined. It feels great!!! So my advice for my fellow GAD, Soc. Anx, and Agoraphobia sufferers is to aim for Klonopin. It works like a charm, and from my previous experiences it does not lose it's effect. Thanks for the support all, and best wishes!

Regards,

Matt

I've been on it 12 years (2mgs - same dose) for SAD/GAD and has worked great for me. Rob

I have some clonazepam onhand and have been wanting to try it. This after weaning off longterm zyprexa and experiencing the most viscous horrendous anxiety and terror for almost 2 months now.

I am always right on the edge of depression, and any miniscule amount of a wrong med can send me into the depths of despair. Matter of fact, it seems like any new thing I try does that.

So I have been very afraid to try clonazepam.

Hey Blue,

Clonazepam is pretty gentle, and definately helpful with anxiety. Not so sure about the depression part, with longer term use it can make depression worse. For the moment though, if you are experiencing some significant bouts of panic and anxiety it would definately be worth a try. Just keep it at a low dose.

Regards,

Matt
