lithium tremor-- Inderal

Posted by yesac on March 28, 2006, at 20:41:37

I've been on lithium for about a year. My blood level is only 0.6, but I have a pretty bad tremor from the lithium. So finally I asked my doctor about Inderal. He prescribed it for me, and I've been taking it over these past few days. I started with 10mgs 3 times a day, then went up to 60mgs 3 times today. It doesn't seem to help the tremor. It never occurred to me that it wouldn't work.

Does anyone know of anything else used to treat a tremor, or if it would be worth it to increase my dose of Inderal even more?

I am so frustrated, not just about this but my luck with all drugs. I have had such bad luck with drugs, and I am really feeling pretty hopeless and discouraged.

i can't help on the med front but sometimes fighting it can make the trembling worse, have you tried letting your hands tremble as much as they like and practise not letting it bother you. If people see it's not bothering you both they and yourself will feel less awkward. Do you remember Tom Hanks in Saving Private Ryan, his hand shook but he was very composed and respected.
