Xanax compared to Klonopin

Posted by rjlockhart on January 13, 2006, at 13:14:05

I may go on Xanax, but i wanted to know the diffrences in effects that people have had.

Klonopin dulls me out, and sometimes makes me depressed, very.

Is Xanax mood elevating, or like Ativan just smooth, and eases tension.

Can someone please tell me

Hi Matt

Were you thinking of trying normal Xanax or Xanax XR?

Matt xanax worked well for years at doses of .5mg three times a day with lmg a sleep. Great for panic attacks. Slight mood elevator too. Fondly Phillipa

Hi Matt

So has your pdoc agreed to prescribe Xanax?

Xanax has to be taken several times a day to acheive consistent relief, often every few hours.

Hi Matt

I had previously used Klonopin (caused me a lot of apathy and depression after a while) and Xanax (great at first but effects don't last long, requiring frequent doses per day, which made me very sleepy and lethargic).

Based on reading a lot of your posts, I talked to my PDOC and he thinks Ativan is the best Benzo - of course, the Benzos are all very similiar, but apparently, based on my PDOC's observations of his patients, Ativan causes less sleepiness and depression in a lot of people.

Take Care

Shelly
