Nardil (90mg) WITH Parnate (30-40mg)?

Posted by Muad' Dib on November 27, 2005, at 17:19:53

Ok I've tried to use 2 MAOis : Parnate and Moclobemide. But I've acquired Nardil as my trial with Parnate+Moclobemide just begun.
So now I've started once again:
Nardil 90mg.

My RX is:
- social anxiety with moderate depression/dysthymia
- adult-ADD (inattentive)

Nardil took care of my social anxiety at 90%, depression at 75%. But I've had side effects: loss of libido and anorgasmia (no problems with erection - only libido&anorgasmia). So I'm thinking of augmenting Nardil with:

- Parnate at 30-40mg (20mg twice a day)
and/or
- Trivastal (piribedil) at 50-100mg/day (D2/D3 agonist with noradrenaline reuptake inhibitor properties)

What do you think about my regime?

I don't think its a good idea. In the clinical literature one man suffered a stroke by using both at the same time. I have heard it done, and I have done it, but I dont reccomend.

Try Reboxetine carefull for more Noradrenaline....

Ace.

Ive done it numeroues times, for me there was absolutly no danger at all, what so ever, but they seemed to counter each other out

Personaly i had more success with parnate/moclimide/klonopin but honestly xyrem with the two maois parnate/moclicmide worked very well.

Hey Ace! Could you give me a link to the study which showed stroke while using both MAOis? I'd really appreciate it!

Why do you think Reboxetine would be better than Trivastal which is dopaminergic and noradrenaline reuptake inhibitor at the same time?

I can drop Parnate.

So what do you think about Nardil + Trivastal (piribedil) ?

Or does anyone have any suggestions on how I should augment Nardil?

Thanks.

Hey Willy!

So you're saying that combination of Parnate+Moclobemide+Xyrem is better than Nardil (for social phobia/dysthymia) ?

I can understand that Xyrem gives extra boost for 1.5 hour while it works (I used to do GHB when it was still legal in US), but overally I would think that Nardil is more pro-social. Or is it different? Please let me know!

Well i cant speak as if its fact.As you can see ace finds nardil totaly effective.

But even with his enhtusiam you have to remeber there are posters who dident find it helpful and stopped nardil,it just depends on how well u respond to nardil.

I was not a responder to nardil,so for myself the addition of molcimide and xyrem was much better,Personly i feel i would have responded to the "old" nardil.
