Anxiety Update

Posted by GoldenSlumbers on November 4, 2005, at 15:25:36

Hi Everyone,

Started Remeron 15mg 3 weeks ago.

I sleep very well, eating better and slowly feeling better.

No more panic attacks, dizzyness has been reduced and I think I had one day without any dizziness.

I do feel spacey when I'm alone or when I let my worrying get the best of me and I am definately more tired than usual.

I seem to snap out of it when I talk with someone then slip back after the conversation ends.

Still overall I think the medication is helping. It's only week 3 and I need to give it 6 or 8 weeks to be fair.

If anyone else has used Remeron with success feel free to share your experiences. I'm still adjusting to it so hopefuly time will settle the side effects.

Thanks

GS

Glad you found something that works for you. Unfortunately it didn't for me. What dose are you on? They gave it to me to help with sleep. unlike the others it didn't help. Fondly, Phillipa

I take 15mg - Makes sleeping easy.

I can also begin to deal with the symptoms of the anxiety. If I don't worry about it - no symptoms.

If I have a symptom (dizzy, spacy, chest pain) I know it's not going to hurt me, and it will go away if I let it. The symptoms always go away for short spells and I find myself noticing how good I feel, then I think of anxiety and slide back.

Sooner or later the symptoms won't scare me at all and I'll feel better. Three weeks so far and it's better than it was.

Maybe it's just the medication but I just don't feel the same need to worry anout it. The symptoms aren't going to kill me so I need to carry on with life the best I can. Same thing people with any disease do.

I hope you find your way.

GS

Yes that's the dose i was on. Lower doses are supposed to help with sleep. Fondly, Phillipa

Phillipa,

Do you ever think you might have been on too small a dose? I remember when I tried Remeron although it made me sleep heavily, I felt irritable, sometimes zombieish and had excrutiating anxiety at times. Really bad sweating. I too only tried it at 15mg for a month and then gave up.

Now with my experience this time with Seroxat where a higher dose seemed to help, I'm nown wondering if a higher dose would have worked with Remeron.

Maybe you should give Remeron a try again only at the maximum dose??

As you might know, paradoxically, low doses of Remeron make one more tired than higher doses.

That's great that you found a med that's working.

I still have bad moments but I try to stay strong. If I could get a few days without symptoms I might be able to snap out of the loop.

If any anxiety sufferer has gotten relief using
a med I would LOVE to hear about it. I may try 30 mg to see what happens.

Thank You all

GS
