Going off Mardil :-(

Posted by Tepiaca on October 16, 2005, at 18:37:14

I told my doctor I didn´t want to leave Nardil
on this difficult moment . I said that maybe in
one or two months and that was my decision.
But now my shipment of Nardil haven´t yet arrived at the local pharmacy. That means I dont have more medicine . I have been two days without
it. I dont like how this smells, I feel like Im
not gonna be able to handle this. The pharmacy said that maybe in one week they will receive Nardil.

Do you think I should take this opportunity and do what my doc said about trying TOLVON?
My family say I should do what my doctor told me.
Im scared Im gonna be without meds again.

You already know what you want to do Tep. The info I have is that you'll have to wait 2 weeks between discontinuing Nardil and starting Tolvon. In which time your Nardil will have arrived, hopefully.
You can't expect your family to advise you to ignore your doctor's wishes.
Good luck with it all

Hi Tepiaca

I'd be scared too if I was forced off my meds like this. Is there any way you can get your script back and take it to a pharmacy that does have some? Saying its an emergency and making a fuss might help.

Otherwise, for Nardil withdrawal I've found 5HTP (from health food shops) helpfull. Try not to take it too soon after the Nardil. Only take if, and when you feel any withdrawal effects to avoid SE syndrome. Start with a low dose and stop a day or 2 before the next med.
High doses of valarian might help calm the nerves too if you cant get a benzo.
Cant promise any of these will help but it might.

Good luck.
Teck.

Tepiaca, your suffering is so real. l2.5mg of seroquel isn't high. Maybe try a higher dose at bedtime tonight. Maybe it will let you get some sleep. You can Babblemail me anytime you want. And I'll give you my E-mail address. You seem like such a kind and wonderful person. Why oh why would someone leave someone like you? Fondly, Phillipa

Hi Tepi,

Does Rivotril help your social anxiety? Does Rivotril make you feel depressed? Some people find it does.

Hi Tepi :-)

If clonazepam makes you depressed, perhaps you should try a different benzo. Clonazepam has a reputation for making people feel depressed.

A short-course of a benzo might help control your anxiety while you're waiting for the Nardil to arrive.

Saludos!
