Wellbutrin withdrawal / Brain Shivers?

Posted by tw7981 on October 11, 2005, at 10:59:03

I have been reading about something called "brain shivers". i didnt know anyone else had been having this feeling. it said it was mostly from effexor, but i am wondering if anyone has had this feeling from another drug? i am currently coming off of Wellbutrin and having HORRIBLE side effects. brain shivers, chills, nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, loss of appetite, sweating, and bad dreams. i have not liked wellbutrin since i started it and have had side effects also while taking it, and any time i missed a dose. i am going back to zoloft, which i was on previously. it made it zombie-ish, but at least it didnt give me horrible side effects! by the way, im on medication for depression and anxiety.

Just curious because I'm also on Wellbutrin SR...what side effects did you experience while you were on it?

Are you on anything else with it?
I have never experienced brain shivers on it. Some of the other side effects I have experienced going off it.
Hope it goes away soon.

It made me act hypomanic and my pdoc sent me to the hospital. I wish it had worked though cause I have no energy, and I need to lose wt. Fondly, Phillipa

I wasn't sure how to describe it (although brain shivers is just about precise!) but I could only describe it as " my brain is doing flips."

I felt like I had a magnet in my head, as if a sumo wrestler was sitting on top of my head. A very "heavy" feeling in my head. It's disturbing, hard to describe but it did feel like my brain was shivering.

It lasted about 3 weeks.

I pray you get better soon.

I also hated Wellbutrin (and Lexapro!).
