Current Sleep Meds what do you take?

Posted by rjlockhart98 on October 2, 2005, at 22:21:22

I have a bad time sometimes getting to sleep. I have gone through sleep deprivation for 2 days at times. Reality really changes...

I take nightly

Temazepam 30mg
Clonazepam 2mg

I used to take Lorazpeam 2mg but it wasnt as strong as Klonopin, in mental potency. Ativan is for lighter anxiety. Klonopin does make you depressed sometimes, but it can calm down anxiety that Ativan cant with me. I took 6mg of Lorazpeam one time, still i was sedated but still i could not get to sleep. 6mg of Clonazepam WILL knock you out, so do NOT drive on that dose. ROLF

Phillipa if you read this, didnt you take Seconal or Amytal at one time. Well just asking.

Anyways anyone else please post what you think or take for insomnia.

Stay Ok.

Matt, the only time I took seconal was when I was in false labor years ago. And it didn't put me to sleep. At the time doctors didn't know it could harm a baby. But to answer your question I take valium l0mg and when I wake up early another 5mg. Have a good week Matt, miss you when you don't post but I know you have a life in the real world to live. Fondly, Phillipa

I have tried:-
20mg temezapam, made me racy and talk too much, 1mg of xanax but got addicted to it, yucky withdrawals, 10mg valium, didn't work so well for sleep, 10mg Ambien, good sleep but didn't agree with my tummmy, 7.5mg Imovane (lunesta's sister) good sleep but foul metallic taste in my mouth the next day (and very bad breath) 2mg (Ativan)lorazepam, great sleep, wake up refreshed and ready for the day,2mg clonezapam very fuzzy all the next day, 5mg Mogadon (nitrazepam) EXCELLENT!!! but a bit groggy in the morning for the first few doses. 5mg Zyprexa, walking zombie for 2 days and 25mg of seroquel walking zombie for 1 day. I would have to say that for me mogadon and Ativan work the best with the least side effects, cheers Paul

I have taken Lunesta ever since it came out. It's more subtle than Ambien was and it works very well for me.

I tend to get more anxiety at night, so I take Lunesta about an hour or 2 before bed and it calms me. I think that docs recommend taking it about an hour before bed since that is when it is at it's highest level in the blood.

Nozinan, a old anti-psychotic will knock you out at small dosage. I use it sometimes. It's in the same family as Thorazine. Thorazine will help as well, but it doesn't knock you out ... it relaxes you enough so you can fall asleep. Actually, maybe thorazine would be good for your because it might help with your anxiety. It has a long half life.

Here's something natural you could try. Buy some magnesium glycinate. Other forms of magnesium won't do it quite as well. Magnesium glycinate makes my xanax feel 4 times stronger and just knocks me out. I was taking 2.00mg xanax a day, but after adding in just a little bit of MgGlycinate, I reduced it all the way down to just .25mg nightly in only a week. MgGlycinate turbocharges benzos bigtime, at least in my own experience.

Seroquel 25mg to 200mg and you'll be out, not to mention the antidepressant qualities and anti craziness qualities it has.
