Anyone ever try this drug?? Butriptyline

Posted by ed_uk on September 26, 2005, at 16:38:26

Butriptyline (Evadyne) - a tricylic AD - minimal sedation

It's been discontinued now, I wondered whether anyone ever took it.

No Eddy, I missed that one too. We really need to have our eyes on the ball more, don't you think? There were a couple I got to on time, Dicodid and Proladone (suppositories) come to mind, but everything else I've completely missed. When was this interesting drug discontinued?

Hi Dec!

>When was this interesting drug discontinued?

It was discontinued in the UK about 10 years ago (I think). Not sure whether there was anything special about it, I guess it wasn't very popular.

>Proladone

Oxycodone pectinate, I believe. What's your favourite opioid Dec.... heroin? I imagine you'd like fentanyl!

G'day Ed

I think Dilaudid and hydrocodone are nice. Morphine too. And heroin, nothing special one way or the other (except the name! Compared to Anatensol or Largactil, for example. What about Dilaudid as a name, 'we laud and magnify thy glorious name').

With opiates the thing that is nice is mental clarity. Since they can give you emotional clarity you don't want to muck it up with some awful woozy feeling.

But everyone only has so much opiate enjoying potential and I've gone through mine, I think.

Hi Dec,

Opiates give me an awful woozy feeling - at first! I've only ever taken codeine though.

I guess I should have taken a Valoid (cyclizine)!

Hi Dec,

Dogmatil is sulpiride, an antipsychotic. The brand name in the UK is Dolmatil. It's called Dogmatil in some countries though.
