I know that fluvox can interact with things. Does it interact with caffiene, in what way ?

Hi Linkadge!!
i actually stopped luvox because i couldn't have a cup of coffee without getting the jitters, and i can drink ten cups on prozac no problem!!!
there is a significant interaction between caffiene and luvox, i think a 3 fold increase in caffiene effects, but i am not certain, it is the only med that did this to me...john

OTHER THAN THAT, IT WAS A GOOD ANTI-DEPRESSANT,
BUT I COULDN'T WORK UP PASS 125 MGS., AND MY PDOC WANTED ME ON 200-300 FOR MY OCD, SO I WENT BACK TO PROZAC!!!

How did you find the half-life? Did you feel even throughout the day ?

Yes, i felt an even anti-depressive response, i actually liked the drug, and the half-life was good, because in the evening right before my next dose i had no sexual difficulties, so that was a major bonus!! i think in my case i should have kept luvox, and stopped caffiene, that would have made more sense, but i am so addicted to that morning jolt of coffee, it's kind of sad!!
i think otherwise it is a real good drug, i didn't feel tired or apathetic at all..john!!!

I found that Luvox and caffiene gave me shocking diarrhea, but only from coffee not tea but I was on 300mg a day and had to race home on numerous occaisions to change my underwear :) . You have to laugh, but about the half life factor, Luvox stopped working for me after about 10 months and I had to swap to Efexor xr really quickly. This I don't recommend because it was the worst discontinuation syndrome I have ever experienced. Taper it really, really slowly if you ever stop. Cheers

Yes it does. I did a class presentation on this once. I believe caffeine can increase the plasma level of fluvoxamine many times over--or vice versa, I forget which it is.

Hi tizza, your right, i had a week of bad discontinuation off only 125 mgs., and my friend is now 1 week off 300 mgs. luvox and is bedridden with depression, despite 150 of tofranil!!
you do have to go very slow...john
