I am sure you could find a few people who have not gained weight on this drug, but my son had a weight gain of 25 lbs in 4 weeks. Needless to say, he was taken off of it.

There's a form of Zyprexa called the Zydis form that dissolves in your mouth and is absorbed through the mucous membranes.
This form is reported to cause minimal (if any) weight gain compared to the regular tablets.
If you are currently on Zyprexa and having problems with weight gain, you may want to ask your doctor about switching to the 'Zydis' dissolvable form.

I do. I 've taken zyprexa for 7 years. I gained a little weight at first, but I lost most of it. My blood sugar is fine.

The weight gain is from eating. The higher the dose the more you want to eat.

I thought so too, until I read from several sources that it actually changes your metabolism, so that you gain weight eating the same amount.
Also a lot of stories about people exercising and eating like rabbits and not losing the weight.....

the first time i was on zyprexa i weighed about 145-150 and i actually lost a few pounds. my Gp Rx for me and then i finally went to first pdoc (that didn't work) and went to second pdoc and lastly he tried zyprexa this time i weighed 118 and gained about 23lbs. it seems like if you weigh more you don't gain as much...(only my take on things...though i think i've heard this once before from someone on the board.)
b2c.
