I had little tics like that when I was young and as a young adult, they've never occured unless I was taking too many stimulants like amphetamines.
do you think it could be a result of any other possible meds or recreational drugs if you are a user of them?

Donna, It's pure and simple anxiety. I do similar things. Like i have to drink 3 bottles of water a day. Do things in the same order. And worst of all I'm addicted to PBabble. Don't worry. And BTW how's the boyfriend. Still staying with him? Fondly, Phillipa

hi !!
phillipa is right, it is probably just anxiety!! i have ocd, and even from the beginning, there were quite a few obsessions and compulsions involved. everyone has minor quirks, usually anxiety driven. if you ever want more info on ocd, let me know...john

I have lots of really annoying things like that. Lately I have been getting into little breathing patterns and special eye movements that really drive me nuts. I dont have any solutions to offer now though. I am just making it worse by going off of SSRIs, but hoping I will find some other way to cope.

Hi!!
oddly enough, breathing patterns have been one of my ocd obsessions for quite some time!!
my dr. said it is anxiety driven, but for me also part of my ocd...john

I am sure my breathing patterns are OCD, and as with most of my OCD problems, it is mostly a problem when I have anxiety. Grrrr... It really bugs me. I would much rather have other OCD rituals!

hi!1 i hear you on that!! i would trade obssesions for compulsions any day!! i managed to beat most all my compulsions, handwashing was the worst, but this obsession with breathing patterns has been a bummer, for sure!! that's why i am afraid to stop my low dose prozac, i don't even know if it is working anymore, but i fear getting worse, >groan<!! good luck...john
