Setiptiline (Tecipul) - a question for darkhorse

Posted by ed_uk on July 2, 2005, at 11:17:09

I think you said you took this antidepressant while you were in Japan. I hear it's quite similar to mirtazapine (Remeron). Was that your experience?

Kind regards

Is rolipram still used in Japan as an antidepressant?

Hi ED

Yes, I tried it while on Prozac. It is very similar to Mianserin & Mirtazapine .
It " enhanced" Prozac's effect from the first dose and felt much better ( more anxiety reduction, better sleep and increase in appetite and food tastes great!), exactly like when I added Mirtazapine to Effexor , but all those effects (except appetite) diminshed quickly so in both cases I stopped before gaining too much weight.
Mianserin ( the parent of both medications) is also the same but has less sedation.

Regards,
DH

Hi DH!

Thank you for your reply :-)

>Mianserin.....

Really, mianserin was less sedating than mirtazapine? What dose of mianserin did you try?

Kind regards

Yes , defenitly less sedating.Mirtazapine was the most sedating AD I took along with Doxepin and Trazodone. Then comes Amitriptyline with Mianserin 3rd.

Mianserin 30mg and I believe equals to Mirtazapine 30mg.
