Dry mouth, frequent urination? I even read where Seroquel might cause diabetes. Thanks, Michael

It does have antihistamine properties. I took it for a few days in the hospital. A week after I was off it my face puckered up like a prund and my lips peeled. Don't know about the frequent urination. Fondly, Phillipa

I got hit with the dry mouth pretty bad. At 50 mg it was drying me up so bad that I couldn't sleep properly at night. (I didn't have the urinary retention, though.)

Yeah, the whole class of atypical neuroleptics carry a diabetes warning now. But, keep in mind that while it is possible to develop diabetes as a result of the drug, it is a relatively infrequent side effect. According to a study I read, the increase in risk is less than 1%.

Also the risk is probably lower if you can work to control any weight gain. This could be either through diet and excerise or a pharmacological add-on like amantadine.

Hope this helps,
