Well if you know me well, you know my crazy erratic posts about going insane.

I was on Ativan 6 mg daily which didnt work well, but i didnt feel lousy, but still i felt VERY crazy.

I dont know much about Alprazolam, i hope maybe there is some med that will ease this mental tension. I am getting out of this house which is causing this misery.

THere not much people on this saterday posting so it is going to be a while before some responds.

Good bye

Of the BZDs, Klonopin can be particularly depressogenic. Give it a few more days. It often passes.

I was monotherapy on Konopin for three years and did well. The first two weeks were a time of groggy, drowsy, weird, dead *ss feeling. This did pass. I was happy with it for quite a while. I was medically dependent on it but did not experience addiction.

I did have some benzo experience prior to my three years of K. Ativan - the sleepy stuff never lifted, Xanax - didn't really have great anti anxiety properties for me. Plus, I was scared off by the thought I might develop tolerance due to the short half life and frequent dosing. Some do fine, but I thought I might not be one of them.

How does Diazepam differ from Lorazepam and Clonazepam.

Lorazepam is more for taking the 'edge' off, not relieving mental distress.

Clonazepam i does 'suppress' mental distress but makes me feel, lousy, nothing gives me stimulation or intrest. I have to make myself manic to fight it, like turning up the radio and turn on something intense like Alien with Siqorney Weaver.

When i dont take it, that gives me Euphoria.

Anyways sorry for the blab.

Phillipa are you a therapist? your nice.

Well Bye

Thank -you Matt. But you already asked me that. Lorazepam is shorter acting than klonopin or valium. I like valium better. Fondly, Phillipa

Hi Matt. I take 4 mg of Klonopin but I didn't start at that dose. Maybe you should only take half of that or one quarter and work your way up. I would feel lousy too if 4mg of Klonopin was given to me.
Now of course, I am fine with it. Don't give up on it too quickly.

I am doing best on only .25 mg of Klonopin twice a day, although I have taken as much as 6 mg per day. Suggest you reduce to maybe .5 mg twice a day for at least 3 or 4 weeks. Klonopin can be a great drug, but I think many people take way too much and that can bring on depression and other bad side effects.

I second that too much klon leads to depression..at least for me. I had to reduce to .25 TID.
