Can I Split 200mg Seroquel Pills?

Posted by TomG on June 21, 2005, at 15:56:14

I've got a pill splitter and just wanted to know if this was OK. I don't want to do it if there is a special coating or such. I get all my drugs as samples from my doc and didn't want to ask for more 100mgs since I've got some 200mgs.

Yes. I split my 100mg pills - my doc prescribed it this way if I need to take them during the day. Also - the pharmicist even helped me find the pill cutters for them.

Only took a few doses but split them to try so I'd know how they affected me. Fondly, Phillipa

Thank You (nm)

Do you only take seroquel during the day if you experience anxiety? I just started seroquel and I'm trying to understand how it's working for me
thanks,
sleepy

I use it more for hypomanic symptoms. Generally, now, I only take it at night (200-300mg) and this nighttime dose works during the day for me. But, certainly, taking some during the day is one option to treat anxiety. Everyone is different so feel free to experiment to figure what works for you. That's what I did and I'm happy now with how it works.

Thanks for the response. This drug has really been helping me for anxiety along with effexorXR and klonopin. I think that I need more though.
I'd like to just keep it at night because of the 'knock me off my feet' sedation. I was sleepygirl before, but now I actually sleep. :-)
