Ok, its been around 7-8 days now, since i stopped taking prozac. I havent cut back, just stopped. And I know they say it stays in your system for a long time...but now I feel weird. Like I swore i felt a brain zap today, twice. And I feel nervous, like I cant relax. I dont know if Im just freakin out at the thought of not having it or what. I take mood stabelizers too, but I dont know if i should have stopped taking this med without consulting my pdoc. i have an appt with him on the 14th...Should I get some and take them again, like every other day or something until i talk to him????

It's hard to know. But probably the best thing to do would be to have a phone consultation with your doctor instead of waiting until the 14th. Or restart the meds.

It's prozac withdrawals. When I tried stopping it, withdrawals came on in about the 7 to 9 day range after stopping the med. For me, it was spaciness, dizziness, unconnectedness, blueness, difficulty concentrating, zero motivation, and considerable anxiety like butterflies in the stomach. Very weird feelings. No zaps though. Shortly after the withdrawals hit, the depression came back rapidly in full force. I am gladly back on prozac again.
If you were to take some prozac again, just to ease the withdrawals, just 5mg or 10mg mixed up in orange juice would likely bring relief in about 4 hours. It did for me anyway. Then you can go without it until withdrawals hit again, and then sip a little more of the prozac orange juice, except sip a little less than before. This way you can ease out of it much better.

I would have to change my rx to non generic so i could break it apart. I feel ok today, but who knows about tomorrow...but I might give that a try....
Also, my pdoc will charge me for a phone call. I wonder if i took my generic again, perhaps every other day until i see him and then decide..??
