Hysterectomy

I had my unterus removed 2 weeks ago tomarrow and about 7 days after surgery my anxity and depression really went up i increased my kolnopin and left the paxil the same has any other women ever experience this if so how long did it last before you started to balance back out I was doing good until now.

Huge question--did they remove your ovaries? If so that could be your problem. If not, then I don't know.

no i just had my uterus removed and everything else was left im only 42 so i'm not sure what is going on i was doing so well until I had the operation

Well that's good. It could just be the stress of the surgery on your body or the anesthesia. However, you do need to know that after a hysterectomy, there can be some damage to the blood supply of your ovaries, so they might not work as well and you might go into menopause a bit earlier. And as long as you have your ovaries you can still get PMS, you just won't have a period any more.

i know i havwe read alot about that its just so upsetting when i was doing much better before she removed the unterus as far as my emotions went as long as i stayed on my meds im hoping things will balance out for me its now 2 weeks pass my operation and i go see the dr for a wound check today so im going to talk to her alittle about this and this not being able to do anything is driving me nuts as well i have 4 more weeks of this

It is still really early; your body needs time to heal and get rid of all the meds you were on while in the hospital. Hang in there. Tell her about your depression, etc. Maybe she can make a minor adjustment to help out until your meds start working well again.
