Found a great resources on meds and treatments

Hi, a psychiatrist created the above file. It's really useful. Not only does it talk about the different meds but it covers different treatments as well. It's very thorough.

Thanks Maxime it contains a lot of information. No mention of opiates though. Question: if opiates make so many of us feel well again ("overwhelmingly sane" - I'm sorry I forget who said that) why aren't they prescribed? In a controlled way it would seem the ideal solution.

I "acquired" a few methadone tablets a while ago and took one in the evening for the pain of my incipient arthritis (I think). At bedtime I felt calm and sane, like a jigsaw puzzle that's been put back together. At first I didn't make the connection. That was only after I'd done it about 3 times (I'm a bit slow der).

Point was I didn't feel drugged, I just felt myself, like, normal. No side effects. I find being around people can have the same effect. Is that linked to internal opiates, or do we just need to be around people? Ramble . . .

Hi Fred
That was me. I assume your methadone tablets were 5mg. No nausea? You know how doctors say that if they could only take one drug to the desert island it would be morphine. Useful for all sorts of things, and if taken judiciously not too much of a problem. When I was a kid this stockman would say to me that if suffering from a hangover he would go to a chemist and ask for a thing called 'draught'. Until 1968 that contained bicarb of soda, an aspirin type compound, and linctus heroin. Available over the counter.
