Can Effexor be combined with Trycyclics, and is there any studies that show its safe to do this?

I would say that it can. They have similar actions, and would generally not be contraindicated as in the case of the MAOI's.
Oftentimes a SSRI is combined with a tricyclic, so I see no reason why not.

Effexor + TCA is a better combination than Cymbalta + TCA since Effexor is not a potent inhibitor of CYP 2D6. For the same reason Effexor + TCA is a better idea than most SSRI's. But I don't know if Effexor + TCA is any better than relatively non-enzyme-inhibiting SSRI's like Lexapro.
