Lunesta/benzo cross tolerance

Posted by temoigneur on April 18, 2005, at 22:04:42

Hi, has anyone been on long term benzo's and found that they did not have a cross tolerance with lunesta.

I'm also wondering if there are any studies, comparing tolerance to zopiclone, and lunesta. How is it reported that no tolerance develops to the latter over six months, yet some do develop tolerance to zopiclone. I realize comparison may not have been widely made, as Lunesta is new, and doesn't seem to be available where zopiclone is for comparison.

Ben

Hi,

Many people take zopiclone for a long time without developing tolerance....... other people do seem to develop tolerance. Inevitably, a few people will also develop tolerance to Lunesta. I don't think there's such a thing as a psych drug that no one develops tolerance to!

Kind regards,
Ed.

I've been a long-term user of benzos and have NOT noticed any problems with cross-tolerance.
