let's talk about spaciness....

Posted by greg diamond on March 19, 2005, at 13:50:15

i don't remember this as much last time around with an SSRI (cuz my oCD was so bad, maybe), but god damn am i feeling completely spaced out. is this due to a sudden higher level of serotonin? (i am on zoloft, with remeron) i am not saying that i mind it, but somedays i just stare blankly a lot and have a poor memory.
any info, or reference to a good site that explains all this would be appreciated.

Craig, I've experienced this, especially when I *maxed out* my med doseages. It felt like some sort of 'trip' at times, and I'd be driving and the lights would look like they where shooting beams at me. My memory and cognition also went bad. I did feel a bit good in this 'altered' state, but I couldn't continue. Don't forget you are altering not just serotonin, but many other neurochemicals. I think that is why some people can compare trips on 'extacy' and such, because there are a few common areas the drugs touch on. It's just SSRI's don't poison you or are toxic to you.

Best,
Jay
