anyone at 90mg Cymbalta or higher?

Posted by anastasia56 on March 6, 2005, at 17:15:36

and do you feel the difference going higher than 60mg.? i recently went to 90 mg and don't feel that much different but i do know it took a while to kick in initially when i started cymbalta so the increase may take time too. i feel pretty darn good on cymbalta but i am trying to irradicate my lingering irritability.
thx

I'm glad it's working for you. I gave up at 60mg after about 3 months. It did relieve my back pain. Fondly, Phillipa

I tend to have anxiety and this is my first full blown depression.

I've had a few panic attacks in my life but I think I am learning how to breathe through them and talk myself out of them.

However, right now, I get this feeling in the pit of my stomach that is soo uncomfortable. I am sure it's probably "anxiety."

Anyway, one doctor at the hospital suggest Cymbalta but I am curious if one responds very badly to SSRI's and could be bipolar 2, would Cymbalta also wig them out???

Maybe I should stick with just the Klonopin with Lamictal (if my dr. will prescribe it) first before I try another AD.

I agree that you need to wait a couple of weeks or so. If it works, then that's great. But if not, there is a different strategy for you to try that I think will work.

Cymbalta affects both serotonin and norepinephrine (NE). The NE component is good for concentration. You could go back to 60 mg of Cymbalta and then add 10 mg Lexapro to see if that relieves your irritability. Lexapro only has a serotonin affect.

I personally take that combination: 60 mg Cymbalta and 10 mg Lexapro. So far it's working reasonably well for my ADD, and very well for my anxiety and depression.

I'm on 120 mg. Yes, it's high but I didn't feel anything at a lower dose.

sounds like a good idea. i've tried lexapro in the past and it made me so congested in the head i couldn't breathe thru my nose at all. scared me. although at 10mg that may not happen. thanks!
