Eyelid twitching for 2 * DAYS! Meds or anxiety???

Posted by Colleen D. on February 27, 2005, at 19:18:50

Is Cymbalta known to cause this? I used to get it occasionally before I was taking any meds. Along with the Cymbalta I take clonazepam and doxepin. This is driving me insane! I recently interviewed for a really good job and lost out to someone with more experience and the next day got a Dear John letter from an org I was sure I'd get an interview with...maybe these events are contributing to the cause. Extreme PMS this cycle too. Ugh! First time I've felt this depressed in a while.

How's your blood pressure? Are you peeing alot? I find I pee ALOT on Cymbalta and my blood pressure is up... and coincidentally I've had a lot of twitching, too... mostly my eyelid, but sometimes my upper arm muscles, too. Anyway, in addition to my multi-vite I've also started taking a LITTLE extra potassium. We'll see...

Probably anxiety what with the interview and all. More stress. Fondly, Phillipa

My left lower eyelid twitched for about 2 weeks straight and I recently noticed it stopped.

It freaked me out because I thought it was something to do with my anticonvulsant meds but it finally did stop. For a while I thought it was going to be permanent!

YES, when I first started a low dose of it, I got a sty in my right eye, that was really bad. I couldn't control it. It was somewhat related to the *combo* I was taking. I dropped the little bit of Stratterra I was taking with it and it diminished a lot, but didn't entirely go away, but I didn't have it at all until I started Cymbalta. I'm not taking it now.

Eyelid twitching is often caused by too much caffiene. I get it when I overload myself with too many Cokes or coffee. Some medications also contain caffiene.

I used to have some slight twitching under one of my eyes when I was on Effexor.

My left eyelid twitches when my stimulant is wearing off. I don't like this very much, but I also have to function at work and elsewhere (hasn't been much 'elsewhere', as holding down a job completely exhausts me). My pdoc advised me to drink orange juice or eat bananas, sources of calcium and potassium. I've found bananas mildly helpful for this symptom. (I can't report on OJ's efficacy, as its acidity does not agree with my GI tract.)
