Has anyone ever used an VNS for depression? Was it successful?

I was in the d-02 FDA clinical study for the VNS. I had it in for 2 years. Every week they'd tweak the settings to try and find one that would "work." There was one week where I swear I had apartial remission overnight - but it faded. Aug. 2003 I had it removed. However, I know of some people in the study that it worked for very well.
