Do you smoke or inhale bad air, smoked in the past? Been around a lot of smoke in the past. That could do it. Might go away. If not:

Sounds like some thing I would want the doctor to check out.

Hi,

I get that a lot, sometimes I have this suffocated feeling all day. and it's worse the more depressed I'm feeling, I think it's just a symptom of depression. No amount of exercise I do gets rid of the feeling.

Do you ever feel as though you've already got too much breath in your lungs and that your hardly breathing at all, as if your bodies trying to go into hybernation?

I feel like my breaths are really shallow and I never get enough air. I find myself yawning a lot, trying to open up my throat more. Its very annoying. And it does tend to come and go and get worse when I am overtired. I mentioned this to my GP the other day and she gave me albuteral to try. I haven't filled the prescription yet, but I might try it next week.

and sometimes I also feel like i am breathing too much--its really wierd, like I'm hypeventilating or something.

I think its definitely an anxiety thing, or depression.

I have this all the time. I seem to get out of breath and my heart rate go up for no reason. Some time when I am watching tv. No history of panic attacks.

On the other hand, I will completely loose my breath when I have a major depressed moment and cry like there is no tomorrow. I nearly throw up, then have to sit down and relax to get my breath back (that is more situational of course)
