that wont make me tired? i'm taking klonopin and it's making me tired plus depressed. i also take 120mg geodon and 20mg prozac. i'm either bipolar nos or major depressive. two different dx from two different pdoc. i also read that you can go straight from k to xanax xr since they are both benzos. i need something for anxiety. i'm taking 2mg k at night for sleep and 120mg geodon at night. it's not working. last night i took one k. i want off the stuff. i've only been back on it for two weeks. please help.you are the best. thanks

hello there, chemist here....in my experience and based on an established literature that indicates that alprazolam exerts some antidepressant effects, i think the switch is wise. however, although closely chemically-related, alprazolam and klonopin are not alike, so i suggest a taper of klonopin in combination with a titration of alprazolam.....all the best, chemist

but i just got back into town. i went straight over from klonopin to xanax xr. i'm taking 1mg of xanax xr. it seems to be doing the trick. i do feel very antsy in the morning after i take my meds. i take the xanax in the morning along with prozac and wellbutrin. it's like about an hour after i take it i start to get restless legs. it drives me nutts but it doesn't last too long. i'm thinking i may need 2mg of xanax xr but i don't want to go up to that so soon. i'm sure i'm going to have to go up in the dosage at some point so i don't want to start maxing out on it now. but i bet that 2mg would take away that antsy restless feeling. oh well, it's better than what i was on before. i'm not depressed anymore or knocked out all of the time. still tired but not as bad.
