Provigil

Just wanting to know if this made anyones psychoses worse like paranoia, delusions, disorganized thinking, confusion, etc. etc.?

Also, did it help with motivation and drive or did it only help with wakefulness?

However, I think the tiredness itself caused by my Geodon is making me lose drive and motivation.

I just started thaking provigil because of my new sleep aid. I changed from restoril to remeron and wow did it make a difference. I can sleep solid for 8 to 12 hours.

My next issue was now waking up. The provigil is helping this side effect.

If you are looking for energy, strength, motivation try the dopamine, norepinephrine enhancers.

Personally I'm still confused what each one does. I read about them but have different reactions when I try to enhance them. I think the dopamine helps motivate me and the norepinephrine gives me energy and strength but am not sure. Most meds I take to enhance them work with both in which confuses me as to which is helping.

For me, it has helped a bit. Since I'm less lethargic, I'm better able to focus amorphous energy into something useful, which is close enough to motivation to work OK for me most of the time. (Then again, since my depression and anxiety are not yet stabilized, who knows what it'll do when those problems are finally resolved.)

Whether it will mitigate side effects of other drugs, I can't say. What I can say is that it's helped me a great deal so far -- although I suspect I'll be dropping it when the depression and anxiety are in remission.

Best luck.

Thanks to all who responded. I think I'm going to give it a shot before I try Adderall or Wellbutrin.

Just a quick side note....when you give Provigil a try, if you don't like it at first or feel like the side effects are a bit much, break up the dose over the day and wait it out a couple of weeks. I thought I hated the stuff at first and almost totally quit it but now I'm fine with it and it helps tremendously.
