I'm new to this. I'm on Topamax & Lamictal together, among other things (WB & Lexapro). I have been on each separately in the past, but am more stable on both Top. & Lam. together. My dx is BP II.
The only SE trouble is extreme trouble getting up in the morning. I take 100 mg of each in the morning and 100 mg of each at night. I am guessing it is the Topamax. (I should also mention SE of "too much" calmness during the day. I need at least some of my energy back!!)
I wonder if I need to adjust the dosing schedule to help me get up in the am (and to help with energy and motivation). My pdoc said I can try this, but said I should see what is best for me - I'm wondering what dosing schedule works for others.
Any suggestions?

What time of day do you take Topamax or Lamictal?
I may switch from 100mg/am & pm to another schedule. What works for others with either of these?Thanks!

I take 400mg/day, in the AM. I have never noticed, from day one, any negative effects from taking it in the morning.

What I've read in many places is with Lamictal, take it at night if you're taking ANY other meds. If Lamictal is the only med you're taking, take it once or twice daily.
