Hello Chemist
What are the dangers, if any, of taking
d-norpseudoephedrine HCI and Efexor XR? Could one rule out actions of the other?Regards
Sabrina

Hi Chemist
I am not taking the d-nor... for sluggishness. I take it as I have, 2 a day (100mg) for the last couple of years, because I have a complete and utter dependancy on it. I am also quite tolerant to it at this stage but mind over matter ... When I started on the Effexor, I knew giving d-nor up would be a bit of a battle. Though I still get hungry, I do manage not to eat as much when taking d-nor. Though not a justification, I do not feel any different with the combo. Knowing that its potentially dangerous does not help either. Thanks for your response
Regards
Sabrina

> Sabrinahello sabrina, chemist here...this is one of those things where if it is not broken, do not fix it. my comments about it being potentially dangerous are grounded in the enhanced stimulation you receive by augmenting venlafaxine with the d-npe: in that you have been taking this combination for a while now with no apparent problems - e.g., you do not report elevated blood pressure, tightness in your chest, and so forth - my opinion is that you have adjusted to it. in my opinion, your d-npe augmentation is not in the same league as adding, for instance, cocaine or methamphetamine to adderall, or some such. i take dexedrine and drink coffee: aside from the ability to write typo-laden emails, posts, and documents somewhat faster than i normally would, i suspect little damage is being done. i do suggest that you repost your inquiry on this board (with a subject line addressed to all) and also on the Alternative board, as you need more educated responses than mine, and numerous posters can set you straight.....all the best, and be well, chemist
