There's not much there, but it's something that may help convince some people's pdocs to give it a try. I was very surprised to run across the above -- definitely the first time I've heard any sort of professional admitting that amphetamine may have benefit for social phobes!!

Not trying to tell people what to do, BUT adderall has been one of the worst things I've ever decided to take in my life...I was prescribed WAY too much for my ADD...and considering this is basically legal speed, I think that this wont be a legal drug for much longer. There is not enough info on the bad effects of this drug!

I absolutely disagree with that -- amphetamines have been used therapeutically for around 70 years and they definitely aren't going anywhere anytime soon. I mean, along the line of thinking that because Adderall is "legal speed" it should be illegalized, then that would mean narcotics should be illegal as well, being essentially various forms of "legal smack". Not to mention Marinol and Nabilone, being that they contain primary active components of cannabis.

I know one thing -- amphetamines have been a *true* miracle for me, and I quite literally would kill myself if they were no longer available to me.

The negative effects of amphetamines are *very* well-documented -- perhaps more so than most other medicines we use today. Again, this harks back to the fact that it's been around for such an incredibly long time (by synthetic pharmaceutical standards), and there's thus been ample time to study nearly every aspect of the chemical.

I have never taken adderall, but it does make sense to me that it would help social phobia. I know when i was a teen, i had no idea what was wrong with me. But boy i felt way more confident when i was taking "illegal" meth or coke. I stopped because i know it will kill you eventually. But if you have social phobia, being on a benzo, just makes you not get the panic attacks, but it sure doesnt make me walk up to someone and start chatting....

Exactly. My Klonopin removes any trace of anxiety I have and eliminates panic attacks, avoidant behavior, etc, but it's not pro-social. It's just a "mellow drug". Adderall (and of course pure dexamphetamine, dexmethamphetamine, benzphetamine, methylphenidate, magnesium pemoline, modafinil, adrafinil, phentermine, diethylpropion, phendimetrazine, phenmetrazine, mazindol, aminorex (U4Euh), 4-methyl-aminorex, cocaine, etc) has so much potential to give you that added *confidence* and *motivation* that are so essential.

I did notice Adderall did help with social phobia ( I wasn't even using it for social phobia) But only effectively when I had a lot in my system...in other words...around the peak of the dose...maybe it did work when the dose slowly decreased from my body..im not sure...but it definitely does have that effect.. Adderall is one of my favorite drugs..it gave me a sense of well being and optimism when I took it..but unfortunately that was then thrown away and ripped apart by the friggin horrible , evil , devilish crash.......You did NOT want to be in with 50 yards from me when I was in the *crash* period..
