I JUST WANNA GIVE UP!!

im a little scared, i know i only been taking 25 mg of dothiapin since saturday (now tuesday) BUT i been getting a really panicky feeling within 20 mins of me taking it, i feel sick, cant eat (good thing) i am grinding my teeth, a little manic (not badly) my hrt rate is pretty good in its 70's which is great for me, ?BUT i have been getting mild palpitations, now and then not bad ones just mild ones freaking out about the cardiac problems tcas cause,( could be anxiety, could be the meds) thats why i get panicky after taking it... is this ok? i am a little scared of taking it tonight, lastnight i said i wasnt going to take todays dose, anyone get this feeling when u take ur meds? anyone on tcas? plse reasure me AGAIN i need my freinds...

As suggested by Linkadge & Kara, a beta blocker would be good to try. Tricyclics increase energy and mood by being norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors and normally this would increase blood pressure except they are also alpha blockers too. If you can't deal with the palpitations then take half of one of your beta blockers to calm yourself down.

Let the drugs work for you, drugs are your friend. :)

A lot of people get palpitations. I used to have them a lot years a go before I started on anti-depressants. Idon't think that they can be harmful, although they can be uncomfortable.

I am getting what i can only describe as gonna have a panick attack but i aint, i am calm etc... i just feel strange, obviousley the meds r starting to work, my mouth is all dry, i feel sick, i am getting twitches in my leg, this is a strange feeling,my hrt rate is fine not high at all, my blood preassure is fine also, but i still feel panicky.. i cant really explain the way it is, its a g ood feeling but a scary feeling at the same time.. i never experienced this before on any meds o sorry i tell a lie i can remember feeling this way when i started effexor 3/4 yrs ago.. teeth grinding etc etc....

I think if you were going to have serious heart pounding etc it would have happened already.

I know when I took only 10mg of nortriptyline my heart felt like it was going to burst out of my chest it was beating so rapidly. It was an immeditate side effect, not one that happened down the road.

I think you are going to be fine. Maybe it is time to up the dosage as your doctor suggested
