6 months and still having withdrawals from antidep

Posted by flyingdreams on June 23, 2004, at 12:39:41

HELP! I still have problems after getting off Effexor 6 months ago! When are they going to go away? WHEN? My doctor says there is no research and can't tell me. Gave me sleeping pills for insomnia, nothing for daytime drowsiness, nothing for weight gain - slow metabolism, and nothing for ringing ear! What can I do? I can't stand suffering for no good reason. There has to be something I can do for my drowsiness! Had a blood test and nothing is wrong. HELP! I can't stand living this way. My life is useless since I'm so drowsy all day long!

Some of the people who have the worst withdrawls are the ones who benefitted the most from the medication. I'm not saying this is the case with you.

I think the best combo I have read for effexor withdrawl is 3 vitamins and 2 amino acids

folic acid
b6
b12

tyrosine and 5-htp

Your doctor probably wants to first see if the sleeping pills help. If you get the sleep you need, you might be less drowsy during the daytime.

If the sleeping pills do not help with your daytime tiredness, you might have to consider asking your doctor for Provigil (modafinil). It's supposed to be effective and the side effects are not too bad.
