Hello, i am new, so i hope i am on the right forum. I have been taking stelazine for 16 yrs. I take 1mg. a day. I take it for very severe anxiety. It has been working very well. Very little issues with it. Now, for about 2 yrs i have noticed a facial tremor when i smile, general hand tremor, and while resting a blowing action (all involuntarily) of my mouth. the blowing action really looks like someone might call the Broncks cheer.I knew i would have to get off the med, but i hated to tell mey doc, b/c i have had a terrible problem finding meds i can take. And i knew it would mean i would have to stop the med. Anyway, i told my doc and we are trying to taper off the med. It would be easier to get off herion. My anxiety level is so high i nearly feel like runnig through the street naked. I jump at noises. I am hearing voices again, but mostly at night. the voices don't say anything specific, just words.I see movement out of the corner of my eye. also, I am having trouble typing and remembering names. I am not Schizophrenic, just very severe anxiety. I am down to taking the stelazine 4 out of 7 days. My doc and i have tried Seroquel, but it does not work as well as stelazine, and it really increases my appetite. Zyprexa works at a very tiny dose(less than 2.5 mg) but it also causes increase appetite, and it is said to increase blood glucose levels(i am type 2 diabetic). resperidal is no good for me. I felt drugged and received no sedation from it. I tried abilfy once and it didn't seem to help, nor did geodan. My doc and i are really at a loss what to try next.
Would just leaving my stelazine at 4/7 days prevent the tardive dyskinesia from returing? (it stopped when i decreased the number of days i took it). Or is it dangerous to take it at all?
any discussion would be appreciated.
