Hi again,
A couple weeks ago I finally got my pdoc to give me Xanax XR. He told me to go 2 weeks on 1mg / day, and the next 2 weeks on 2mg / day. I have an appointment coming up to see how it went. However, After trying the one for a while, then the two....I realized how obvious it was that I was feeling SO MUCH better. Yet I still wasn't anywhere close to where I wanted to be. I have started taking 3mg per day.
When I go back, I'm afraid to tell him that I started 3 without asking him, seeing as how hard it was to get on benzos in the first place. However, after being on 3mg for a few days, I'm thinking 4mg / day would be absolutely perfect..
The only problem is that it wears off around dinner time, but that is somewhat separate. So in terms of the dosage, what should I say? If I say two is not enough, he may want me to try 3MG per day, which I'm already taking and is not quite enough as it is. Advice? Please...! Thanks so much!-becks

Xanax XR should be taken twice per day (every 12 hours) for optimal effects, despite what the manufacturer/your doctor may say.
