I have noticed i cant sleep at night, my appetite has decreased, and i am not sexual arosed like i use to be.I have been on 20mg for a month and still feel depressed. But it could be because i am unemployed, my truck is broken down( in the process of getting fixed):), and i have nothing to do till summer school starts in june.I take .5 klonopin to sleep at night and feel groggy in the morning.I have been diagosed with anxiety disorder and severe depression.Any positive feedback would be helpful. Thanks!

I was on prozac for a while to deal with the same things, anxiety and depression. I started out at 10 mg's for the first week then went up to 40 over the course of the next 4 weeks. Prozac's side effects include decreased sexual arousal, insomnia, headaches, anxiety increase, decreased appetite. Most of the side effects will subside about week 4 or 5 and you should receive maximum benefit from Prozac by week 8. I found that the increased anxiety I felt was to much so my Pdoc switched me to Lexapro.
When do you take your Prozac?(morning or evening)
I assume you feel groggy in the morning from the Klonopin since it will have a mild sedative effect, this should decrease as your body get's used to it. I take 1 mg of Klonopin daily most of it before I go to bed. I have been feeling groggy in the morning to but I think most of it is due to the fact I just started taking Lexapro.
Talk to you Doctor but if you are still depressed you might want to increase your Prozac. I have found Klonopin to be great for anxiety and to help sleeping, another option is taking Xanax before you go to bed. It has a shorter half life than Klonopin so you may not feel as groggy in the morning. Xanax can be addicting so you'll want to be careful but it may be a short term option. Hope this helps.

I increased my Prozac dose gradually up to 30 mgs and then 40 mgs with the encouragement of my Psych. The only side effect I have with Prozac is sexual......it's not the same but I deal with it cause I feel so much better. Also, I take Xanax at bedtime [.5] but you may need a smaller dose. I have never gone to more than .5 in 3 years and I usually take it once a day at bedtime. Once in a while I will take it if I get anxiety. My husband was on Klonopin, but he too prefers Xanax at bedtime. I hope you feel better.
