I don't know but if you have a prescription, you can send it to an online pharmacy in Canada (the legal ones of course) and they will send you the generic celexa. Not to mention that drugs in Canada are like 50% cheaper than those in the US because Canada as a whole country makes deals with drug companies to get better prices in exchange for the huge volume of sales it gives them.

Can I use my insurance to get canadian prescriptions? Thats the problem, my prescriptions always come from a big mail order pharmacy, so I get a lower copay. If I got genaric prescriptions, they would be dirt cheep. Thought americans weren't aloud to order from canada anymore?

Technically, it is against the law for Americans to order drugs from Canada, but the law is not enforced (according to Newsweek magazine). Even states are moving towards ordering from Canada.

Newsweek recently reported that US drug companies are limiting sales to Canada so that they do not have an excess of drugs available to ship back to the US at a lower cost. The online companies are therefore looking to buy drugs from Europe so that they can fill orders from the US.

As for insurance coverage, check with your insurance company. Many insurers will give you a book of "preferred providers". These providers include doctors, hospitals, and pharmacies.

I doubt that a Canadian or that any "online" pharmacy would be listed in the book, but you would have to check to make sure. If the pharmacy is not a "preferred provider", then read the insurance payment rules for drugs purchased from "non-preferred" pharmacies that are outside of the US. You would probably need to call the insurer to get help with your question.

But my guess would be that most (or all) insurers in the US would not cover any part of drugs purchased from outside the country, especially since it's technically illegal.
