I know what you mean. I recently had to drop Lexapro because I wasn't awake enough to function during the day. Of course, I've been on every SSRI out there at one time or another, and I haven't been able to tolerate any of them. My doctor won't prescribe a straight out stimulant, so now I'm back to Wellbutrin, XL this time. Of course, that's increased anxiety, so now I'm on Xanax, too. It makes me wonder whether it wouldn't have been better to go with a stim to begin with.

My only advice is that you might want to try something other than SSRIs if sedation is a common SE for you.

Usually my worst side effect is anxiety and tremors (which I have just started to experience big time!). Wellbutrin has always seemed to make my anxiety worse. Does it help you?
