i WAS JUST PRESCRIBED BUSPAR 20 MGS DAILY FOR MY ANXIETY. DO YOU THINK THIS IS A HIGH ENOUGH DOSE. BESIDES, I DONT REALLY UNDERSTAND THIS MED ANYWAY BECAUSE I AM ALSO ON LUVOX AND THAT RAISES SEROTONIN SO BY TAKING BUSPAR ARNT I DECREASING SEROTONIN? THE DRUGS SEEM TO CONTRADICT EACHOTHER. I WAS ON TRANXENE BUT IM TAPERING OFF IT BECAUSE IVE GROWN TOO TOLERANT TO IT

I was opn BuSpar some years ago. What I can remember is that it makes you sleepy when you first start it- so while you are getting use to it (first 3 weeks or so) taking it around dinner time if you can. :)

When I 1st started Buspar, I didn't feel much effect. It did make me dizzy for about 20 minutes after I took the med. It was very severe for a few months. Also, I had the increased appetite right after it took effect too. I have been on it for several months. I don't have that dizziness now. It is more of a calming feeling. I still say this drug affecting me more like a very weak antidepressant. I saw colors more sharply on it too. Also, when I increased it to 60 mg, I got very hostile. That went away with the addition of Lexapro.
