Can you diagnose me? What's my problem?

Posted by panic_attack on January 31, 2004, at 21:59:15

What do you think this is? Maybe OCD? For example, when I try to say a prayer, all types of curse words pop into my head. I cannot say a prayer without thinking of really bad words. When I am "sexual", i think of somebody that i should NOT be thinking of!! I'd rather not say. Why do these nasty thoughts pop into my head. I have anxiety disorder but this cannot be related! I cannot think of anything else right now but I know there is more. Am I nuts?

There is nothing wrong with you

Others may not agree, but I think that there is nothing wrong with you.

Hey - No one's perfect!

OCD or maybe Tourette's? I read a book about a girl with Tourette's who had tics and would curse uncontrollably. Does that sound like you?

hi there,
I am a therapist and there is actually not enough information given to diagnose you. If you feel that there may be something going on with you, you may want to look onlike for online OCD test, or other psychological tests. This may lead you in the right direction. Most of the SSRIs work well for OCD is that is what you feel like you have. I have hear good things about Luvox for OCD but I know its not one of the more commonly prescribed SSRI, well good luck God Bless, I will pray for you since your seem to be a little muddled.

It is normal to have these kind of thoughts. You can control your thoughts.
On a spiritual note. Satan can insert thoughts in your head whenever he wants (or one of his minions)---however he can not read your mind. Pray to Heavenly Father that he will help you in this. Aswell read the scriptures regularly so that the Holy Spirit can influence your thoughts more. I have been taught to change my thoughts by thinking of something else or realizing that the thought is there and ignoring it. I don't know if this helps?

Take care and I hope you find peace.

Sincerely,

Gisele

My first thought when I read your post was Tourretts (sp?). I really don't know enough about the illness to know if the outbursts must be physical/verbal or if they can happen in the head also.

I would go online and search for Tourettes Syndrom (or however you spell it) and see what it says.
